Cat with an Attitude
Met a pretty white feline during the night walk today. It (have no idea if feline's tom or tabby!) had very soft fur and was so friendly. I was scared to touch it at first... was afraid that it'll bite. But he told me to clench my first loosely and let feline smell it. Even if it bit, it'd be tougher for feline to bite me.
Didn't want to at first, but with much persuasion and encouragement, i gingerly reached out towards feline... and feline turned its back on us! Cat with an attitude! But perhaps feline wanted to be stroked? We were stroking her back... i withdrew after a while coz was scared, plus i couldn't keep my balance (squatting) and didn't want to accidentally put too much pressure on feline. Well, didn't know there were such friendly cats around. But no, i'm not about to go around stroking all felines...
And the irony of it all... the "irony being so thick you can slice through it with a knife like butter" as i quote him, is that i've got a cat as my microsoft assistant. See cat, don't dare to touch cat. That's the irony of it all. But really, feline has changed my mind. It's really a pretty cat! Perhaps i'll get to stroke other felines the next time round? Hmmmmm.....

My Christmas Gift
Otis Skillings
My Christmas gift I bring, dear Lord;
My life for You to use:
My total self in every part,
To melt and blend and fuse.
My every talent You may have
To do with as You choose.
This is my gift this Christmas
I give myself to You.
The shepherd came, the wise men came,
And so I come to You.
I give You, Lord, my everything;
I give my life a new.
My consecrated soul I bring,
My dedication true.
This is my gift this Christmas
I give myself to You.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is one of the songs we're singing for Christmas. I find it so meaningful, coz' of the simple message which is a response to Jesus' love: to give of our whole lives. Jesus is not just my Saviour, but He is my Lord! I don't bid him goodbye after accepting him as the person who has reconciled me to God... I don't obey him without believing that his death and resurrection has fully satisfied the wrath of God and has reconciled me to God.
What a wonderful truth!
Destressing...
The exams are round the corner, ready to pounce on me at any moment... and i feel so ill prepared and inadequate! Need to destress seriously...
Today: take some of those quizzes...
youre soft on the inside but have a protective
shell so you dont melt for all things
sentimental. while youre not going to forget
what's important to you, youre also open to
romance in whatever form it might take. youll
hav an amazing vday, whether you spend it w/ a
cute boy, or hav a girls' night out.
how romantic are you?
Whimsical World of Disney Songs
Listening to some of the classics yesterday on the ride home. Ansen was a bit blur about the songs, but Weicheng, Serene and I were enjoying ourselves thoroughly, listening to the songs and singing along softly. Ah... the little bit of magic that Disney holds for so many of us!
My sis and I do holler Disney songs when we're in the car and it's the Disney CD. Apparently, *ahem* we're not the the only ones to do so. Someone was doing that while driving to school yesterday: turned up the volume to the max and hollered all the disney songs!
Well, here are two of my favourites that I heard yesterday:
Part of Your World
Look at this stuff
Isn't it neat?
Wouldn't you think my collection's complete?
Wouldn't you think I'm the girl
The girl who has ev'rything?
Look at this trove
Treasures untold
How many wonders can one cavern hold?
Lookin' around here you'd think
(Sure) she's got everything
I've got gadgets and gizmos aplenty
I've got whozits and whatzits galore
(You want thingamabobs?
I got twenty)
But who cares?
No big deal
I want more
I wanna be where the people are
I wanna see
Wanna see 'em dancin'
Walkin' around on those
(Whad'ya call 'em?) oh - feet
Flippin' your fins you don't get too far
Legs are required for jumpin', dancin'
Strollin' along down a
(What's that word again?) street
Up where they walk
Up where they run
Up where they stay all day in the sun
Wanderin' free
Wish I could be
Part of that world
What would I give
If I could live
Outta these waters?
What would I pay
To spend a day
Warm on the sand?
Betcha on land
They understand
Bet they don't reprimand their daughters
Bright young women
Sick o' swimmin'
Ready to stand
And ready to know what the people know
Ask 'em my questions
And get some answers
What's a fire and why does it
(What's the word?) burn?
When's it my turn?
Wouldn't I love
Love to explore that shore above?
Out of the sea
Wish I could be
Part of that world
Something There
[Belle:] There's something sweet
And almost kind
But he was mean and he was coarse and unrefined
And now he's dear
And so I'm sure
I wonder why I didn't see it there before
[Beast:] She glanced this way
I thought I saw
And when we touched she didn't shudder at my paw
No it can't be
I'll just ignore
But then she's never looked at me that way before
[Belle:] New and a bit alarming
Who'd have ever thought that this could be?
True that he's no Prince Charming
But there's something in him that I simply didn't see
And almost kind
But he was mean and he was coarse and unrefined
And now he's dear
[Lumiere:] Well, who'd have thought?
[Mrs Potts:] Well, bless my soul
[Cogsworth:] Well, who'd have known?
[Mrs Potts:] Well, who indeed?
[Lumiere:] And who'd have guessed they'd come together on their own?
[Mrs Potts:] It's so peculiar. Wait and see
[Lumiere and Cogsworth:] We'll wait and see
[All three:] A few days more
There may be something there that wasn't there before
[Cogsworth:] You know, perhaps there's something there that wasn't there before
[Mrs Potts:] There may be something there that wasn't there before
Driving. It offers a sense of freedom when you're cruising down the road at speeds that your legs normally can't take you to. (For normal non-atheletic people that is). It offers a fast mode of transportation that whizzes you to your destination in no time at all, pending clear roads and co-operative pedestrians and traffic lights. It offers you a relatively dry ride to places when the skies open in tears. Driving.
But yet, driving offers you some unsavoury items. It offers an increased chance of accidents when you cannot control the car. It offers an increased chance of experiencing the fragrances from the sewers of the person sitting next to you (aka your driving instructor). If offers more opportunities for you to travel around the world as you send people home out of the goodness of your heart.
Driving. So many pros, so many cons.
My olfactory system has been seriously assaulted today by a stink bomb which promptly turned the cabin of the car into a sewer. Sigh...
