People
Sung by Barbra Streisand
Written by B.Merrill-J.Styne
People, People who need people,
Are the luckiest people in the world
We're children, needing other children
And yet letting a grown-up pride
Hide all the need inside
Acting more like children than children
Lovers are very special people
They're the luckiest people in the world
With one person one very special person
A feeling deep in your soul
Says you were half now you're whole
No more hunger and thirst
But first be a person who needs people
People who need people
Are the luckiest people in the world
With one person one very special person
No more hunger and thirst
But first be a person who needs people
People who need people
Are the luckiest people in the world...

A'capella ExpreSSS
"Welcome to a magic moment. We invite you to join us as we journey around the world..."
A magic moment it really was! 6 talents coming together to contribute their brand of music, resulting in an electic array of improvisations. Whether folk songs, classics, pop songs or jazz songs, all were handled effortlessly by the sextet.
When they glided into Esplanade's Concert Hall, the sextet drew loud cheers and applause for their vocal abilities. They created an orchestra of flutes, trumpets, strings, electric guitars and vocals just using their voices. Amazing! They really demonstrated what the human voice is capable of. Read more of their abilities at http://www.ae-vocal.com/indexeng.html
From left, Ekaterina Nadareishvili (Soprano), Maxim Kostra (tenor), Diana Polenova (soprano), Andrey Tunik (bass), Eteri Beriashvili (alto), Anton Kasatkin (baritone)
For 2 hours, the group shimmied to their songs, clearly enjoying theirselves. They also got the audience to take part by clapping their hands... singing some parts of the song, and singing 'Hit the Road, Jack'. Wonderful audience rapport! My front row seat didn't seem that bad after all... they were so close to us!
I bought their CD too... will listen to it soon. If anyone wants to borrow it, tell me alright? And... you can join in on the magical world of music! Truly, A'Capella ExpreSSS sings the global language, the non-words version of esperanto: music.
All in all, it was a wonderful experience. They were a real inspiration! Wow... just wonderful!

Jogging...
I jogged again today after an almost 3 month hiatus! Yeah... my last two runs were in June.
Well, my stamina really is dropping.. that, and i wasn't feeling too well but insisted on running. Almost fainted. Good thing Lorraine and Liping were there, so not that bad. Hopefully it wouldn't have taken too long for them to notice i'd fainted if i really did!
Did some stretches too... boy... my hamstrings and all other muscles are really stiff... but one thing remains: i can still do my sit-ups pretty effortlessly! :)

Oh Caramel Coffee Jelly Frappucino!
I dun believe it... the promotion for this is over... just when i was craving it! No... this cannot be happening... The coffee jelly is delicious... Even the caramel frap alone doesn't taste as complete...
The small little humble cubes of jelly... you wouldn't expect that they make such a difference to the drink but they do!!!

My friend's msn nick reads:
What is Carrot Cake without EGG? What is Murtabak without EGG? What is omelette without EGG??? I miss the humble little egg.....
Yeah... i'll add one to that "what is nasi lemak without EGG?"
Had nasi lemak last Fri... and the egg was replaced with a fishcake. Now, even the delicious nasi lemak at Adam's Road doesn't taste so special without the egg. I really love the way they do the egg there... splish it into oil and deep fry it. Mmmmmmm..... adds flavour to the rice!
The humble little egg... humble and little... but yet so important and so taken for granted. That being said, I wonder how my couz is coping with egg prices increasing. Is his mum cutting back on the number of eggs he can eat? I wonder... oh, this couz has to eat egg... if there's no egg, he won't eat it. Terrible right... hahaha. But at least he eats egg tofu too.

Heard this song on Class 95 FM while i was mugging... i've always liked this song, the vocals and the kinda bittersweet feel it gives. So... i went to search for it and, voila! Found it.
And the story that runs through is touching... even as i read through the lyrics, i could just imagine the happy yet furtive moments that they shared... the promises they whispered to each other. Touching...
Love, Me
by Collin Raye
I read a note my grandma wrote back in nineteen twenty-three.
Grandpa kept it in his coat, and he showed it once to me.
He said, "Boy, you might not understand, but a long, long time ago,
Grandma's daddy didn't like me none, but I loved your Grandma so."
We had this crazy plan to meet and run away together.
Get married in the first town we came to, and live forever.
But nailed to the tree where we were supposed to meet, instead,
I found this letter, and this is what it said:
"If you get there before I do, don't give up on me.
I'll meet you when my chores are through; I don't know how long I'll be.
But I'm not gonna let you down, darling wait and see.
And between now and then, till I see you again,
I'll be loving you. Love, me."
I read those words just hours before my Grandma passed away,
In the doorway of a church where me and Grandpa stopped to pray.
I know I'd never seen him cry in all my fifteen years;
But as he said these words to her, his eyes filled up with tears.
"If you get there before I do, don't give up on me.
I'll meet you when my chores are through; I don't know how long I'll be.
But I'm not gonna let you down, darling wait and see.

Corp Reporting's starting to get interesting! I was surprised tt it could generate such interest in me for the first half of the lesson... I think i learn best from reading articles and analyzing them, rather than reading financial reports! Hmmm... but really have to start reading my text soon... if not i'll just be dead dead dead!
And i just realised... i've got a multicultural faculty this sem!
Maritime economics >> Greek prof (Hercules E. Haralambides)
Finance >> Taiwanese prof (i think... coz she got her B.A. in Taiwan)
Psychology >> American prof (who loves Tylenol for pain relieving)
Corp reporting >> American prof (who reads financial reports for entertainment)
Now is that diverse or what?! Lots to gain from this term!
